Write a one-page (250 words) essay explaining what happened in Jamestown during the “Starving Time.” Do not rewrite the accounts, but rather interpret them, analyze them, draw conclusions from them. Do not treat each account separately; be careful to weave the evidence from each together. If you have trouble getting started, formulate a few questions, such as “What role did each author play in Jamestown and why did they write their accounts? What or who did the authors blame for the terrible conditions in Jamestown?
